The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie two Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services on the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering companies which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency reported it is actually alarmed regarding the large variety of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The intention with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to your large quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“That is a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no fully functional office devoted to service the area on a regular basis. The support point made for intervention encounters a higher inflow of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it tricky for the Workplace to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more assets to help the servicing of all sassa status check buyers and increase use of Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
